Shawn C. O’Neil is a loving father of three small children and he spends time in the beautiful Hudson Valley of New York. Born and raised in a small town in NY spending his early days on a farm and rural parts of the state, Shawn was a three-sport athlete in High School and went off to college to play football. After a career ending knee surgery Shawn enlisted in the US Marine Corps and spent time both on active duty and as part of a reserve unit while obtaining a Bachelors in Financial Economics degree from Binghamton University.  

In his early professional career Shawn working in the lending industry with personal production that  exceeded $250 Million dollars and he is credited as one of the first to do foreign national lending in 3rd world country for the purposes of buying U.S. real estate. Shawn also amassed a large real estate holding and worked with a REIT, real estate investment trust. He has held many licenses and  certifications over the years and has expertise in Residential, Commercial, & Business lending, P&C and  Life Insurance, Small Business Management, Specialized Tax Incentives, Payments Processing, Recruiting,  Sales & Marketing, Leadership development, Business & Life Planning, Mergers & Acquisitions, Payroll,  HR & Hiring just to name a few.  

After a 8-year break in service Shawn liquidated his businesses and real estate holdings and reenlisted in  the US Army to serve in Afghanistan as a member of an Infantry battalion. During his time with the US  Army Shawn had the distinct pleasure and as he self proclaims his favorite job ever was as an explosive  K9 handler.  

Upon returning to the states he ran his own distribution company and completed work on his masters.  He earned his MBA in Entrepreneurship through Keller Graduate School of Management with a minor in  Accounting. Shawn was quickly recruited into a management role with an industry leading publicly  traded company where he spent 3 years conducting servant leadership and managing huge teams with a  multimillion dollar P&L. Simultaneously and ever since Shawn has been working with small to medium  sized businesses solving strategic problems, achieving lofty goals and massively impacting their bottom  line.  ‘

Regardless of the industry Shawn has been able to deliver maximum results while embodying his own personal set of core values. Recently he lead a home services company with industry leading growth to a multi-million dollar acquisition. Yearning to return to his roots, after the acquisition Shawn decided to transition his entire business and life.

Shawn shifted away from leadership and organizational development to focus on quality life and personally serving the needs of his lending clients.  Shawn is passionate about serving other veterans and has earned a designation as a Military Mortgage Specialist (MMS) and also participates actively with AWI, American Warriors Initiative to help pair veterans with service dogs.  Shawn’s goal is to be one of the top VA loan officers in the country branded as Mr. Military Mortgage.  Outside of his professional career he continues to serve his community and his partners. Shawn also volunteers at the local VFW, American Legion and 4-H Shooting program and is almost always accompanied by his service dog Bandit
